lame! I've had my car broken into twice now but never stolen (thankfully). Yeah it's crazy what they leave behind and what they take. I'm guessing they are high on drugs. :freak:

That's the thing, they didn't take anything from the car. The dash components are in the trunk. I just haven't got around to placing them back in order. Been working like crazy. I found a replacement rim on eBay so hopefully in the next few weeks I can order it. It's a stock item. Other than that, all I can do is hope for footage. I called the HOA today but they still havent been able to compile the footage on a disc yet. seams I'm bottom of the barrel right now... "damn punk kids and their damn cars..." I'm guessing.

Theft isn't a problem in my area, but when I have to park in an area where it is I take the time to pop the hood and pull the FI fuse. Most people don't expect you to mechanically disable your car.

Or wait, was it actually stolen with a towtruck? Thats.... organized. What the hell. How does one protect against that?
Now with Moderator power!

Black '93 BP RS - wrecked, parted, scrapped.
Green GS - Sold.
Black GS - Summer DD/Race car - Fancy KLZE
Red GS - K8-ATX -> MTX-KLDE - Frakencar. Scrapped
White GS - Rusty. Parts. Scrapped
1997 BMW M3 - my summer baby
2002 BMW 325Xi - sold
2003 Forester Xti - EJ20K swapped.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Other than disabling all 4 wheels with wheel locks, but I guess they could pick it up with a hoist and/or use dollies?

If they were on a repo crew gone bad... well you probably don't have a chance.

Not much to report with yet... Still no thieves caught... :(

I'm waiting on several parts at the moment. My interior is a little disheveled due to me taking out all of the MDF. I built a box for my two 8" JL Audios... All I can say is, Holy Crap! I have been running just one and then nothing but my two 5.5 Kickers in the doors after I took everything out. Now I'm running the two 8", two 5.5 Kickers and two 5.5 Jensens in the back. My amps are the same old ones Ive had; one 400 WATT Zapco I Force for my mids and highs (5.5s are two-ways) and a BOSS 240 WATT (Don't know the model, its the purple one pictured in earlier posts) for my subs. I can not believe how hard those two 8" hit.

Anyway, as soon as I return the backseat area to its former stock glory, I'll work on getting the audio equipment set better and post some more pics. At any rate, got these in the mail and I'm stoked!!!! Once I decide on a muffler, then the exhaust will be completed. got a guy that is going to weld it all up for me for 250 bucks.

Re: Vecia's 1994 MX-3: UPDATE - Got Me a Parts Car!

Post by Vecia »

Oh Yeah!!!! It was like X-Mas this week!

Got my visors from fowljesse, Power Window and Door Lock conversion stuff from mikeinaus and lower back seat cushion, EGR Bypass and some extra goodies from SuperK!!! You guys are awesome as always.

Also, even in the midst of a crazy week, I drove about an hour and half south to pick up this poor, mistreated baby that needs to be put to good use... Gonna try and strip her down as close to the shell as I can this weekend...

It's a 1993 with the SOHC B6 and an Automatic Transmission. The Trans is blown but get this; the car has been sitting for a year and when I got in it, I put the key in and it started with the first turn. There was some knock at first but after about 5 minutes she smoothed out and was purring like a kitten.

My plan is to pull the B6, scrap the SOHC Head and put a port and polished DOHC head on it with Miata internals. Next will be the trans. I'll scrap the auto and replace it with a rebuilt F series manual, which should be enough for a turbo B6. Once the engine and trans are completed and I have everything else already prepped for the swap, I will transfer it over to my daily driver. Once that is done, the 93 will be completely rebuilt inside and out and will pump out some nice BP power. lol Well, that's at least the plan. She needs some serious love.

SCRAP THAT IDEA! you can't put the DOHC head on. you'll want to just pull a 1.8l BP motor outta a protege or escort and drop it in.

I concur, if you're gonna throw something in through at least the BP, or find a BPt. Go big or go home :D

Then why are Miata guys putting DOHC heads on B6 SOHC blocks? A B6 block is still a B6 block no matter how you look at it
