First off was building a winter motor. I picked up a 120k km synthetic run K8 from Curtis (umcamara) for the sweet price of a case of beer. It had sat out in the rain for a season with no front valvecover. As a result... well, this:

I drained 4 GALLONS of fluid out of it, 3 of them water. The crank spins by hand.
I pulled apart the old K8 that was in my black car originally. 250K km on it, this is the piston to wall clearance:

Its very likely over 1mm. I could shuffle the piston around in the bore by hand. That is retarded, I'm surprised it still ran. If I remember correctly, It was putting out compression numbers in the 160-170 range.
But the valvetrain wasn't rusty, so I threw that in the winter motor. Bought new NGK BKR5E's, put them in the KL, and put the like new KL ones in the winter motor. Its just waiting for October now, when I'm swapping it in.
I'm also painting my red car... well, Moonwaxing it.
I removed all the panels, and rocker guarded the backs (minus the hood and interior surfaces) rocker guarded behind the panels, and rust painted in appropriate spots, and primered the rest. The engine bay will unfortunately have to stay red.

And these are the cars I spend the most time with
