Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Every V6 I think in the UK has them, cant believe they are so rare in other countries!
Rear quarter spats would be another name for them I guess.
stangant I would hassle some UK breakers for some that way you can get some white ones
and not have to worry about them being painted.. just a thougth

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
sh*t its getting too damn cold outside to work properly
I have managed to test fit up the washer bottle though
looking like it will tuck in there very nicely.
Might even be able to hide the power steering one down there too if gravity allows?!
anyone know if the power steering reservior has any filters or baffles internally?

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
I was doing a little looking around for some new tanks myself. I saw that NRG makes a very nice power steering unit. Size and fittings I have yet to confirm. Might be something to look into.
I'll probably end up gettig one. After a little more research that is.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
When i was looking to see if they all came with baffles and filters I found quite a few tanks here http://www.summitracing.com/search/?key ... ank&page=1
I just made the unions for mine only last week:
12mm to the solid line
15mm to the pump is what I made mine after measuring a tank at the breakers,
although I think RS and GS OE res. tanks seem to be a little different in there orientation?!

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
I've never seen an interior like that on an MX... Was that the European version, or did you swap that dash in? Looks great, regardless! I much prefer it to the newer US one, which just looks a little bit munted, and possibly try-hard, IMO! I do still like my plain & simple JDM one, but yours looks funky, without being over the top... nice! That Momo wheel works well with it, too

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
yes JayoM right thats just a stock photo of it!
Also third time lucky at the breakers this morning I managed to remove the ECU thus giving me access to the plugs and lots of flying lead to be able to start making the loom for the AEM piggback, so spent all afternoon with the multimeter & wiring diagrams drawing up the plans for it on the dining room table of course...
There seem's to be a few differences here and there between US & UK models, but not a massive deal hopefully and its becoming quite apperent now how similar or not it is to the MX-5. The donor wiring harness also has
an annoying TIMEC immob. box that'll have to removed or worked around.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Oh, right! My bad, I thought you'd fitted it already hahaha... was gonna say, thats some pretty crazy custom work right there, and I would be so surprised if the dash actually fit in the MX haha
Sweet I look forward to seeing the wheel & gauges fitted after your bathroom's done
