What's my BP's Redline???
I always thought that the BP engine's redline was 7K. But when I rev, it redlines at 7.5K. Does this have to do with the fact that my transmission is an F series or something else?

7000 rpm, you can rev an engine past redline on a stock ECU

Ya, that's not the redline, that's the rev limiter you're hitting. Most cars don't have the limiter right at Redline, they're usually a bit after.

Re: What's my BP's Redline???
Yah the B6 rev limiter is 6500 and the BP is 7200 I believe. but the stock RPM gauge is not that accurate. It was great when i swapped over the BP10 ECU onto my B6 fun times

Re: What's my BP's Redline???
Your hydraulic lifters will not keep up after 7.5K RPMs, if you want to rev more convert to solid lifters and cams. Also the stock cams are designed for mid power range, they drop power after 6.5K rpms. I have brought my BP to 8.3k RPMS with my old ITB set up, but it really didn't do any good since I lost power due to floating valvetrain.

Re: What's my BP's Redline???
Unless your boosted and they definitely can if you go to a stiffer valve spring. The only real benefit would be to get a little extra speed out of your gearing. I topped out at like 124 or something and swapped to the bp10 ecu and was able to reach 136mph. My newest BP i am using 62lb titanium valve springs designed to rev the hydraulic valve train to 9K but my cams quit producing power at 8200. so my rev limiter is not set to 8500.mx-3_4evr wrote:Your hydraulic lifters will not keep up after 7.5K RPMs, if you want to rev more convert to solid lifters and cams. @ im2bad4ya - Stock the B6 is 6500 and the BP is 7200. Really not wise to go beyond 7500 like mx-34evr said if you are using stock valve train. there are ways to mod the ecu to cut out the rev limiter all together but I don't suggest it
