LED Altezzas Worklog = READY
Hey guys....
I`m trying to do my own custom LED altezzas...
I posted a topic in the brazilian`s club, and now I`m posting here, for you to know too, and give me your opnions...
In the original topic I did a real worklog, here I`ll do a resume, of what I`ve made.
For those of you who want to see the original one: http://www.mx3zone.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4805
TIP: use google translate for you to read, it`s easier.....
So I bought 4 discs of acrylic.... and I did holes in this pattern
And that`s the final result:
After that I bought some aluminum pipes to put in the acrylic:
I glued this pipes with a super contact glue (AKA SuperBonder in Brazil)
Then I glued the leds in the pipes with this glue too...
I putted the led into the pipe, because the pipe will do a shadow, and when the led goes on, it will be easier too see....
After that I soldered the LEDs in the resistors....
And I cutted my broken altezzas, I`m using it as a test.......
Then I glued the acrylic in the altezza:
And a video to show how it will work in the car:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi8tkXQ5BQQ
Now I will cut my brand new altezza, and assemble it in the car....
What do you guys think?
Did you like??
sorry for my english

Wow this is so awesome... This is a project I have always wanted to do. I feel like the taillights are the most outdated part of the mx-3 (just from lighting perspective - I think the altezzas are an up to date design)
thank you for sharing and I look forward to more updates!

Ah. you did it backwards for the brake lights, eh? Just noticed that how cause normally over there the inners would be the fog light while the outter is the brake lights. You going to make use of the outter brake lights? Set them up as we would have it in North America?

I really like it. I was thinking about something like this, but it seemed like a lot of work. Looks great.
94' RS/GS/MS/CF Monster Turbo...coming soon.
93' GS SE, the Black Beast, the former love of my life...soon to be gutted and crushed.
94' GS, black on black, now in several small pieces...and one large crushed piece.
2007 Mazda3 GT Sport --- super fun
2004 Honda RC51 --- Lost forever to some theavin' bastard
