Re: Turbochaging K series motors - walkthrough
no that just the exhaust parts theres nothing for the intake manifold... you dont need nothing...melb30x wrote:i must be confused....

you put each headers on each site of the engine... then the other piece bolts on it to make your turbo sit on the side of the engine...
look at my work log you should be able to figure something out...

Re: Turbochaging K series motors - walkthrough
Hey buddy id go with the modded injectors and use some sr20 ones they are good for 450cc i believe, and than just dont cheep out where it counts... fuel management and a decent fuel management. lol I blew my broken in ACT 6 puck clutch right after i put them in, made a world of difference. Plus passing lambo's, vets, and vipers is a gag in its own.

Re: Turbochaging K series motors - walkthrough
I just read some of the posts that were put up on the HP you guys were getting and got sick. See I dumped about 6 grand into just a motor swap alone and feel like a real dumbass . Of course I beefed up a few things like I got a 9lb fidanza fly and a 6puck ceramic fidanza turbo ready clutch along with a few other parts like a full pacesetter exhaust with headers kl31 ecu etc . On to my point I am not too happy with the power gain I got from the swap alone to be honest it's not much more than what it already had and to boot I'm not too sure I got a Ze because of the power issue. Off the line it's tourqey has s--- and I can't take off with out spinning but I think that is due to the clutch and in 5th gear I can hit the gas and it doesn't have any problems gaining speed up hill or down but that's it and it's pretty slow about doing so it's almost like it's running a little flat. I am running 17in. rims dn't know if that has anything to do with it or not. But it is no where near what I was expecting and am a little dissapointed especially for the time and money I dumped into this upgrade . So I'm thinking turbo may get me what I'm looking for but it will be a last resort any ideas on some simple things I can do to get more out of what I already have?

Re: Turbochaging K series motors - walkthrough
Take it in and get yourself a good dyno run to find out where you are now... most of the ZE swaps I have seen they all come down to the tuning and what ECU you have matched with what VAF... I strongly suggest you get either a stand alone like a Mega squirt or get some kind of piggy back like a SAFC or a Greddy E manage. Remember everyone says they are 200HP.... but really they are 198 at the crank and tend to dyno at about 160 WHP. huge improvement over stock 1.8. If it feels torquey off the line then your wheels are probably fine, if they are chrome baller-ish kind of wheels I would think about getting something a bit lighter. I have seen guys break into the 13's with stock ZE's but its all tuning. again i would recommend getting a base dyno run out of the way first and go from there.
