fuel pump?
ok im doing a bp swap and after im done i plan to turbocharge i know i will need a better fuel pump and injectors however if i buy the performance fuel pump and keep the car N/A for a few months while i get the kit together will it hurt the car in anyway the reason i ask this is because my fuel pump died while testing it sucked in something and no longer works so will having a performance fuel pump hurt the car? also if it doesnt which ones will work best

Re: fuel pump?
You could put a 1/2HP fuel pump in and it'd be fine, as long as you use the stock regulator.

Re: fuel pump?
by regulator do you mean the fuel pressure regulator or the relay next to the ECM?

Re: fuel pump?
does the fuel pump run at all?
Reason i ask is since ive done electrical if you hook something up backwards (+ from power to - on device and vice versa) the device will run in reverse. So theoretically if the pump works the same way (and your already planing on a new pump) you may be able to reverse the polarity of the pump and force the clog out. However you would have to take the fuel screen off to do this and unhook the fuel line to the fuel filter.
Do any of you with a little more knowledge on how the pump works see any collateral damage that could be caused from a test like this? as i am making this suggestion very tired.

Re: fuel pump?
well the pump is out and no it doesnt trun on here is ho i test it i know it wasnt safe but oh well i took the pressure lines out and decided to turn the key knowing it should pump gas in to my back seat i did so and nothing i have changed the switch next to the ecu and the fuel filter this pump was working 4 days ago but then i believe i ran out of gas and it might have damaged it... reason i say i believe i ran out is cuz my gas tank was near empty so it was at the E

Re: fuel pump?
probably redundant but if you followed the proper procedures to changining the fuel filter that means you depressuized the system, by taking the (i believe 40a) fuse out and opening the gas cap, then starting the car and letting it stall.
My question is this. Have you replaced the fuse and or checked to see if it is still in good condition?

Re: fuel pump?
Those are the only ones i can think of. Unless someone else has another idea id say get another fuel pump and run it (as for the regulator yes ryan meant the one in the engine bay)
