Re: Check engine light/ecu scan

I'll have to do some testing later this week on the IAC. Is there a way to track down the G signal for the 03 code? Or does that mean a new distributor? I've done some searching on the net and can't seem to find anything for the hall effect sensor. I really appreciate the help.

You'd need the entire new ignition module, which you'll be hard pressed to find. so pretty much a new disty. Post a WTB, a bunch of us have spares.

G signal is the 6 pulse signal from the disty. Online manuals, G section, page 32?

With needing a new ignition module for the disty, would this be where the HEI ignition module modification comes into play? From what I have read both on the forum and over the net is seems these distys are pretty failure prone. Sounds like I may be better off doing the HEI mod instead of sticking money into a used disty. Any thoughts? Thanks

No.

Disty is four parts.

Ignitor (like a pre-amp for the coil) <- this is what the HEI fixes.
G signal (fuel/spark timing)
NE1(or is it 2?) Signal (Cyl1 TDC signal)
^ These three are in one unit
v this is a separate unit.

Seriously, post a WTB, you'll find one for less than $75 shipped likely.

Finally I think I have it solved. The check engine light is gone as I had 2 broken wires causing the 03 and 34 codes. Thanks everyone for the help.
