The inaugural event was hosted 9 years ago by the Miataphiles and has been hosted by several local Mazda enthusiast clubs in subsequent years. This year Toronto Mazda 3 will be running the MOM2011 event!
And without further ado, here is the 2011 MOM Announcement:

The website is will be available for everyone to register to indicate their intention to attend MOM 2011. For now we just wanted to get the word out about the date and location so that everyone can mark it in their calendars.
We would appreciate if one or more of the Officers / Admins on your board would take the lead for consolidating any questions which can be directed to us here @ TM3 via the forum (email will be up shortly), We will post up here with event updates!

Re: August 28th Event - Meeting Of Mazdas 2011
I showed, minus my Mazda.. small bunch, but some well sorted out cars were there. Spent an hour talking to a like-minded Protoge owner. So, just for that it was worth the trip... and I got a free Mazda hat
Too bad no one here made an appearance. I'm going next year if they hold another one, with my MX3.

Yeah 6:30 is definitely too late. Hmmm it seems like it's getting smaller every year...

They had like 4 other shows to compete with. Probably THE worst day or the summer to host that meet...._-Night-Shade-_ wrote:Yeah 6:30 is definitely too late. Hmmm it seems like it's getting smaller every year...

Yea, it was a small group but the quality of the cars was really impressive. I donno, mazda guys must be an image concious bunch because in the Mustang club I belong to, people will drag any old POS and show it off.

Re: August 28th Event - Meeting Of Mazdas 2011
I think the current tuner generation is still stuck on the "all show, no go" era, whereas with the muscle car guys it's always been about the engines and actual power than anything else. So in the former it's all about looks and in the latter all of that comes second. Not to mention most of the current Mazda models are slow as snails anyway so the best you can do is make them look good. Last year some POS 4 banger MX-3 with a body kit (he didn't even pop his hood) won best MX-3 and no one was even interested in my KLZE... It doesn't really matter to me, I could care less what other people think, it's just interesting to realize what other people value more. I'm trying to build a good all around car but the mechanical things have been first on my list, the visual comes after.SgtLynch wrote:Yea, it was a small group but the quality of the cars was really impressive. Due to attitudes like this....that is why the MX-3 meets including others like MOM are either very small or does not happen at all._-Night-Shade-_ wrote:Due to a lack of interest from basically everyone I know, I won't be going to this.
