fully operational again, and runs at the same temp if not a little cooler than before. UV coolant dye to be added later.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
i don't seem to understand how this thing quite works, what are the 3 small tubes coming from the reservoir?
i assume one is the overflow tube just in case the reservoir starts overflowing or whatever
looks great though

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
there is only two small tubes onto the reservoir, one is the overflow yes thats built in to the neck/cap assembly, the other is the expansion feed from the rad.
the other small tube you can see goes down and connects to the alu. elbow connected to the air filter.

Looks great.
Are you going to replace the upper intake portion of piping to the TB. The robbed section is the worst for flow. Looks great though, I like it.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Hi Josh, thanks! Im really pleased with it.
For the moment the ribbed section is staying like it is, but obviously when I turbo yes that section will be replaced with a nice lime green 2.5" 45 degree silicon elbow leading onto a straight 2.5" alu. pipe wich tapers gently down to 1.75"(I think) to meet the intercooler pipe poking round the side of the rad.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
ok running completely leak free now, temp is well down on what it used to be.
normal running temp >
the expansion inlet on the tank had to be changed.
quick mock up in cardboard of the proposed fusebox cover.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Totally blown the Clutch money!!!
On a set of these
15 x 8 ET15 alloys, will be using my 195/50/15 tires and probably having the arch rolled.
Should have pictures of the rocker cover tommorow also

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Nice wheels. What's the offset? My 16x8's have a +10 offset and just work with the camber option that I have in my coilovers. (well they "just work" after the fenders are rolled .)
We all want to be fast and look cool. Cool changes but fast never does.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Received my newly painter rocker cover from Paul (mx3gulf)
this morning, more than impressed with his great work on this, and tbh I wasnt expecting anything else.
Wil have to wait a week or so to fit it as I promised myself a little break
from any work
