thats kind of like asking someone what cloth you should wear.
get the one you like or think that would go with your color scheme of your car

either aluminum or brushed aluminum since your floorboards are shiny, doorsills are shiny, doorhandles are brushed...

If you have silver car I'd go with brushed or if you have carbon fiber parts on your car I'd go with c/f

I rock stock, and I have no plans to do otherwise.

Bezel:
Black(assuming you have it) will match your stock interior(another assumption), and therefor should never look out of place. Change it if you must, but there are probably things you want more, that the money could be used for ;)

Gauges:
1. Green is my favorite color.
2. Green is EASY on the eyes, even during long drives.
3. If you ever decide to sell the car, stock looks better to *most* people.

My .02 cents =)

Red is theoretically the best colour for gauges, it stimulates the rods in your eyes the least, so it doesn't takes the least away from your night vision when you glance at the gauges.

I'll second that, but adjusting your dimmer to comfortable levels will work wonders with most any color.

Red is easier, I keep red lighting on my boat interiors for those trips when a hotel just isn't feasible.

Actually the reason our gauges are green is because they are the easiest registered color by the human eye, that is also why nightvision is green, they have been switching to red because if dimmed properly it should be visible but not intrude on your night driving. also why new cars are doing things like the vibe gauge cluster, they are sunk so far down in the plastic they are always dark, and have less reflective light.
