Clutch/Gears/synchros
Clutch/Gears/synchros
I have a '95 MX3 1.6 DOHC 5 speed manual. I am at at stump. Am tryin to figure out if my clutch is out, or something simple,or exactly what it is.....I have changed the slave cylinder, because the symptoms pointed to that, did all the bleeding, but my clutch still seems loose, I did notice that the pin from the slave cylinder that connects to the clutch has some play...AND I am able to move that pin freely with my hand....The pin makes contact with the clutch but why am I able to move it or what other possibilities could there be?? Hope I posted this well enough for someone to understand...Please help, Thanks!

Re: Clutch/Gears/synchros
Just curious, but when you say clutch still seems loose, are you refering to the pedal feel when you depress your clutch pedal, or does it actually slip,(as in engine rev's high, but car moves really slow), or does it hesitate and jerk about(possible throw out bearing)...

Re: Clutch/Gears/synchros
I got it to drive, but I have to pump the clutch to get it into first, and reverse. It stalls as if I have released the clutch without gas, only when shifting into first. All the other gears are smooth, also the clutch will drop to the floor when I first start it up. And yes the pedal was loose, but i adjusted the pedal...just not sure if I got the play adjusted correctly...
