Although that spot is for power mirror controls, obviously you're not using it, but why not just wire up your actual horn button?

The steering column is out of the MX-3. It had cruise control. Grant did not make a steering wheel adapter for a MX-3 with cruise. I bought the non-cruise steering wheel adapter. I had to modify (read hack) the column to make the adapter work. I managed to get the steering adapter to work, but it ended up the horn wouldn't work  ......so now the horn is a button on the dash  I am not a heavy horn user, so to me it won't matter much.

Talked to Ted, turns out my engine was in the Warehouse:)
Smart fence that Ted, with race wars aproaching and all.
Image
The Warehouse was called Eagle Japan Motors in Mississauga.
Image

Image
They had two straight neck KLZE's in stock. The first was an Automatic AWD! It compression tested it and was not all that impressed by the numbers, and it had one scary looking oily spark plug.
Image

Image

We dug out another and the compression was 225PSI across the board. So i bought it.

Some random Pics of JDMness:

KLZE installed in my 323 (rear engine for the ride home)

Got the engine home and on the stand.

This thing is ugly LOL, this will be the before pic, before I clean it up and make it all pretty. Importer said their facility in Japan is out door, which makes sense since the KLZE and everything there is covered in an inch of dust and bird poop ;)

Will do, if it does not have KL31 cams I will :crying:

Image

I  the MX-3 5 spokes on the 323. Many people have asked if they are the stock wheels. I figured my MX-3 parts car would likely not have the 5 spokes, so I bought Konig Air's for the 326. (look like slip streams). The 326 has MX-3 suspension so the MX-3 wheels would likely look better on it because MX-3 V6's have a 15mm wider track then 323's. (The gray one in the pic is a stock width 1.6L Auto with MX-3 GS Wheels, my daily driver) 16" Miata Wheels look sick on a 323 too.

Cleaned my JDM pooped on KLZE today

Image

Image

JDM oil for sale ;)
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Used 3 cans of Joe Gibbs degreaser, two bottles of Mothers wheel and tire cleaner and one sample bottle of Mothers car wash. It is cleaner then it was before LOL
Image

All looks good except the water pump. It is all kinds of $%^&*@-up. Has about an inch of play in it :wow: I was going to replace it anyway though.

Looks like I am a Mazda kool kid now. (it has the "good" cams) :)
Image

Image

Got it as clean as it is going to get with degreaser and soap, time for some power tools with wire brushes on them.

Image

Image

I am going to paint the engine black, the vavle covers wrinkle black and the intake "as-cast" silver. Looks like another trip to the Mazda dealership is in my future, many of the molded hosed are hard as rock and crumbly. I have a multi-pack of black Vibrant silcone vaccum hose to put on it too.

I ordered up a new manifold emblem too :)

Worked on the car today. Trying to make the ugly engine pretty.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Used two cans of degreaser and $15.00 at the car wash cleaning the transmission.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Gave the transmission a coat of enging paint.
Image

Image

Next up more cleaning and painting of little rusty brackets :eyes:

NOTE: I have all new seals for the transmision, so the old seals got a coat of paint. A new release bearing is also going in. I drained all the water out of the trans, it will be flushed with clean fluid and get fresh synthetic fluid very soon, so no worries.

The engines old timming belt, timming components and water pump all got painted, but they too are all being repalced :) The engine had clean rags in all the open holes.

The "KLZE" decal came from these guys: http://www.etextremegraphics.com/catalo ... &x=16&y=10
