Decided not to get rid of my baby

Post by s1zzl3 »

After a terrible year last year i decided not to scrap my mx3
I was looking at some old pics and couldnt shake the fact that i had a blast working on her
I think i will try and restore her to her former glory
Just cant wait for the weather to get nice here so i can start with my rear bumber mod..
i think i will go with a Hyundai Tiburon rear bumper swap and scrap the fart can for a dual silent exhaust 8)

Yay! Welcome back! I've always liked your car. Can't wait to see what it'll look like with a tiburon rear. Sounds interesting.

Mmm Miata front lip. Looks good. Not a fan of the prev rear end but the next one might look good. I dont know about the dual exhaust thing though.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

Haha thanks guys!
dual exhaust would be my only option with a genesis/tiburon rear diffuser im afraid
unless i patch up the other exhaust hole of the diffuser
but thatll throw off the symmetry which i dont want
ill rig up a photoshop and you guys can tell me what you think then

PS with a dual exhaust setup you need to get rid of the spare tire right?
or has anyone managed to do it without messing with the tire compartment?

Couldn't you just have a dual outlet muffler? Just mount the muffler a bit further back and have a pipe wrap around to the other side sort of like Grand Am's and such are run. Those are only single muffler cars. Granted, they are sideways mount mufflers, but I'm sure you could figure it out.

I would do that before I would cut out the spare tirewell.

I'm bout 99% you'll have to remove the spare well in order to get a dual exhaust. Glad to hear you are sticking around though. Your designs are the illest and I would hate to see your chop skills used on the likes of a Honda or Nissan or some crap. ;)

Thanks Pat im glad you like them haha

Heres a really rough photoshop of the idea i have but the end result may vary a bit
IMO the tiburon exhaust flow perfectly with the lines of the car so ill be using those tips
Image

I didnt even think of just extending the muffler outlets its a really good idea ill look into it see if i can get around cutting away the tirewell by using that method
Thanks Savin for the heads up
