Rear-Mount Battery Relocation

Post by TheNelson »

I am introducing a new product that is currently in development stages for all years Mazda MX-3, Rear Battery Relocation Kit

This kit will include EVERYTHING needed to relocate your battery to the trunk of your car including vehicle specific instructions. The tray and hold down will be made from high quality aluminum. The kit will include:
Battery Tray
Battery Hold Down
Tray Mounting Hardware
4ga positive cable
4ga negative cable
Wiring accessories
Battery post adapters

Is there any interest in something like this? We did this so we could more easily fit a straight neck intake manifold on the car but it is also good for evening out the weight distribution of the car and making it easier to wire up sound system amplifiers.

Here is a pic to give you an idea.

I'll get some better pictures that even look better and show off the actual hardware soon.

Not everyone has sealed batteries. May need a vented box.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

I'm interested as well, I already have a pretty big stereo and I was considering a second battery. If I can relocate the main one and put the second back there as well without hindering my box space, that'd be awesome. If you keep it under $200 that'd be even better.
