M62 eh? I have access to 7 of those from what I understand...

They are the stock SC's on the Cobalt. Have a handful of friends who have gone to a twin-screw SC.

Wonder if they'd mind parting with one of them...

Marc you're the next person-with-an-epic-worklog that I've finally gotten around to reading :D Sorry it took me so long, but I can stay up to date on your progress now though.
I'm so impressed by your build. Did you do all the engine rebuilding yourself? You need to get it on a dyno, I bet it's making some impressive numbers! And I love the choice of color for the VCs, they look pimpin! :P
I've got some more specific questions to ask you that I'll PM. Keep up the good work; can't wait to see what's next!

Thanks :) Yep all my own work generally. Numbers won't be that impressive, but it's still good fun :) Turbo does seem inevitable

SO new video time, well it's been laying about for months, but now uploaded. Just my early test runs with my boost leaks etc, reaching a max of 1.7 psi lol...

Overdrive pulley for more boost is in progress :)

That sounds pretty cool Marc. Can you give us an idea what the power gain is? How much boost is it making?

GREAT! I`m looking for M62 and do the same s--- as yours ;)

What injectors do you have?
What belt did you use to SC?
Did you use FMU? Whitch one?

hey marc, very nice/clean setup...

would you say that supercharging an mx3 is easier then turbocharging it?

supercharge looks pretty simple... but i might be wrong... never looked at supercharging it...

anyways, nothing sounds better then a supercharged KL...
mx-3, KL turbo (tooo much to list) yeah its boosted!

Big thanks to all the kind comments :)

Unfortunately I can't at this stage. I haven't bothered taking it to a dyno as I am waiting until I get an overdrive pulley to make it worthwhile. Max boost has been about 2 psi  With the new pulley I am expecting to at least double that.

Thanks John, I'd say each has their own tricky bits. I haven't tried turboing a KL but I'd say:

+no need for oil lines
+no need for hot pipes
+clutched so can be turned off
+only requires a longer belt to run it

-requires relocation of the oil filter and housing
-fabrication of inlet pipe
-fabrication of outlet pipe (both a bit tricky as there is just NO room down there!)
-fabrication of SC mounting plate
-if you want more boost you need to change the pulley on the SC, or get overdrive crank pulley $$$

So all in all it's easy enough. To be honest if you want BIG power, you're not really going to get it out of this m62 supercharger. But it does come on quick, and the noise is unreal, such a headturner. I don't know of any other supercharged mx3 in the UK or Europe. I'll be happy if I hit 250whp with this overdrive pulley.

Injectors are ZE/DE. I have millenia S injectors on standby for the overdrive pulley. Also running a walbro 255 in preparation.
Belt is just a longer version of the stock belt. I think it's actually the one designed for KLs with AC.
No FMU. Megasquirt is controlling it.

I'll get some pics up to explain the setup sometime soon.
