motor questions.

Post by gooseberry09 »

I have a 1.6 Dohc motor i was wondering what the specs were on the stock internals. whats the safest amount of boost to run? i know you will say search but everytime i do i find so many different things that are so tangled and confusing. so please if you have to be negative do it to someone else ive had my fair share of being picked on already. please and thanks guys.

It's a pretty stout engine. That's not the problem. The tranny and the fuel system are the limiting factors. You should be able to go up to about 7psi without changing injectors etc, but the stock F series tranny will only hold up for so long unless you're really kind to it.

This worklog will be very informative for you...although it is more extreme than you probably intend to go.
