First ZE track run

Post by TMP39 »

so i took my car out to the st thomas drag way friday nigth with a couple friends and the girlfriend and all night i got 15 even, mind you m girlfriend went down with me everytime. and i let her run it once and since shes only been driving standard for about a month she got 16.02 which well i thought was hot but yea. i also have a bad tps, no egr, headers, and i shifted each time at 7000rpm. launched it at 2000.

any suggestions on getting a better time and i texted nightshade while i was there and he said i should do way better then 15.

15 isn't bad. My best was 14.7. I had 2 seconds of wheelspin, and shifted early, because I'm not a drag racer. What was you 60', and trap?

Lol I didn't say WAY better, I said you should be in the 14s with a ZE. But I guess if your g/f was in the car that would make a difference. However you've got an RS shell, manual rack too, so slightly lighter.

got 14.9 last friday in grand bend. not exactly the best day for the track tho. even the actual drag cars with slicks that cost more than my car had problems

Get rid of every bit of unneeded weight. How crisp are your shifts, time taken to shift results in time not getting power to the rear wheels?

I agree with dan, the car will do better times if you dont go down the track in reverse!

I'm just trying to figure out how you're only getting a 15? With my 96 mx6 ls, I'm able to run 15.30 with just a cold air intake and broken exhaust. Plus my 60fts were horrible 2.3-4. You should be able to break 14s like low 14s I would bet unless you don't have a true ze motor? Even my brother hit 14.9s with his 96 ls full leather interior with just the basic bolt ons.
