Re: Marco's '95 GS-ZE-Black Beast - LSD install begins...
Looking great, as usual! I'm salivating at the coilpack.
That's great that you have that kind of power with 01 cams! I'm sure you're imagining what 31s would feel like. I have 01 intake, and 31 exhaust, and have that power, too I'm going to be selling a set of 31s when I get my Colts put in, but would be afraid to send them to you, considering our curse.
OH, and what trouble are you having with the LSD?

Haha you'd get a nasty shock dribbling onto coilpacks
Yea I reckon I'm probably down a bit on peak HP but it's a nice low/mid grunt. Yes the curse of the cams would no doubt ravage them!
The gearbox was making a terrible horse like noise, check out the youtube vid. After that I took it out and put my standard k8 box back on and all was well. I had my local gearbox guru strip the MFactory and he said the LSD was contructed beautifully, virtually flawless. So it's all back together again for another try. It could be the box, or maybe the clutch assembly, hopefully it was just something overlooked the first time. Soooo don't worry, I'm sure yours is fine

Re: Marco's '95 GS-ZE-Black Beast - LSD install begins...
LSD has been on hold dude!
So FINALLY tried out my big brake test!
Here's the setup:
323F/lantis V6 spindles
MX-3 wheel bearings
MX-3 Hubs
Xedos 9/Millenia Brake Brackets
Xedos 9/Millenia two pot calipers
EBC Ultimax for Xedos9/Millenia
MX-3 drilled and grooved discs
I followed the guide on club protege by dav0r. Required a bit of extra grinding to clear my alloys around the 'guard' bit of the carrier.
The pads are condsiderably bigger than the mx3s, and dig into about an extra 8mm of the brake disc. As for the braking performace HOLY SHAT! They'd put you through the windscreen already! Not even bedded in yet. I'll update this after a while to let you all know how they work out over time. Only thing I wish this setup would allow a bigger brake disc!

Re: Marco's '95 GS-ZE-Black Beast - BIG(ger) two pot brakes!
Wicked setup, I just got a few more ideas for mine. I just wish I could figure out an inexpensive-ish/recycled big brake kit like that off of parts stateside. And now I need to look into that VAF delete, never seen that before so Im feelin all nubish again

Re: Marco's '95 GS-ZE-Black Beast - BIG(ger) two pot brakes!
I am sooooo jealous. I wanted this spindles so bad. If I had them I could work out a 12" rotor in no time.
I want to stop that hard.

I have to admit, I got emotional over that sound, and imagining the braking power.
I am very impressed! You're going to eventually need Nyloil A-arm bushings, with all that torque back and forth! Maybe traction bars, too.
Great job!

Haha don't get teary on me Jesse. Thanks, well I'll just take it as it comes, I don't expect to be above 300hp ATF with the SC and bigger pulley. After that it'll be time to get creative.fowljesse wrote:I have to admit, I got emotional over that sound, and imagining the braking power.

Just a quick phone photo of it is now Supercharger is fun and the noise is insane! Bigger pulley required though...only on like 1psi Videos to follow!
