If you have any idea what he's doing then it may work. The LED can work, I believe, even if the CEL doesn't work. I think there's a procedure for which pins to jump for the LED.
Probably time to start searching the forums at this point...

LED ===> negative(FEN), positive(B+)
Jumper==> TEN and GND
Tomorow I'll test then!
