stumbling then dying

Post by Fragz »

Ok so awhile back I had a plug on the Intake Mani blow out....that has been completely patched......but still sometimes Ill go out...start my car....drive it about 200m then it starts stumbling and dies!

so I try and start it and it doesnt....but if I leave it for 10-15min itll start up if I floor it once it catches. then it seems to be back to normal!!!.....this is getting frustrating!

almost seems like its flooding......but Im not too sure......

TPS maybe?? fouled plugs??? (dunno if they can do this)....its very strange how its fine then dies....then is fine again....so Im not sure :(

dizzy... When it gets warm theres a small crack inside that spreads out and you loose connection some wheres, basic design flaw. And the problems most likely internal not just a simple cap and rotor change sadly, however its always a good time to do an external coil mod

Anyhow most v6 owners know its gonna fail, you just have to admit it or you might be chasing shadows for a long time lol

Ok Ive got a new dizzy (actually off a KLZE I saw in the jdm shop)

ANYWAYS.....how do you get the rotor to line up? I marked the dizzy....and marked where the rotor needs to line up to.....and when I stick it in the 2 flanges there that mate w/ the other end its off....I can only allow the rotor to go where those marks are.....and its off by a lot

Im used to the gear driven dizzys where you dont have this issue......is there a way to rotate the rotor without it being engaged with the "gear"? I undid the screw under the rotor but you cant move the metal mounting piece cuz it can only go on one way.

sorry hard to understand wtf Im trying to say haha

also I noticed the cap is #'d in a different order than the dizzy I pulled off......Im assuming the dizzy that was on there was off a DE maybe?

but yah the firing order on the caps is completely different too? wtf.....time to get part #'s off these bitches!

(but yah still need help with the rotor issue haha)

EDIT:

ok heres the caps (left is the new dizzy cap....right is the old one)

You have the wrong style distributor.

You need a T0T57071 or T0T57072

your 'stock' one is actually already rebuilt. not an OEM unit.

What year is your car? 1992/1993 are The codes I just mentioned. 1994 is the messed up looking one you have. I don't know the rest.
