Not necessarily. It's not that you can't turbo an engine with higher compression, it just means that it will accept less boost safely. Whereas on a 9:1 compression engine you can go to say 15psi, a 10:1 engine might only get to 7psi before knocking and stuff but will still have a very good power band at 7psi.

I'm just saying.
94' RS/GS/MS/CF Monster Turbo...coming soon.
93' GS SE, the Black Beast, the former love of my life...soon to be gutted and crushed.
94' GS, black on black, now in several small pieces...and one large crushed piece.

I saw a 200x lotus elise which comes stock supercharged, getting an
added turbocharger for a super-turbo. When the turbo spooled up after
the supercharger took low end, it was running 10 psi.

Lotus's use a toyota 1.8L 4 banger and the compression ratio is 11.5:1

Higher compression just means the tune has to be done carefully and
with reliable engine management.

Exactly. CR is in a sense the efficiency of the engine and directly affects power. Wouldn't you rather boost an already more-efficient engine than work so much harder just to get a less-efficient one to the same power? A DE would have to get a lot more boost just to catch up to a slightly boosted ZE.

Exactly. Also you're effective compression goes up in relation to the boost, which means you get more HP-per-PSI as the static compression of the motor goes up.

umm.......let just go with an update instead of saying something......

so yeah, i have another post but i guess it doesn't hurt to put it here as some progress even though it's not on the car

so i picked up some parts online while i was overseas so i came home to a mound of goodies :D

Image
Image

-full set of floor mats
-B-pillar bar
-rear mudgaurds (even though i have a set on my car -_-)
-2 german hazard switches (even though i have a 94 XD)
-SRD Crossmember
-autozam emblems
-there was something else but it broke in shipping, so i don't really want to talk about it

i also have a bunch i stuff i bought in Taiwan like LED's and MS stuff that i'll take a picture of later.
still need to figure out if i'm buying the BP from MI|<E or if i'm doing something else

not much of an update, but i updated my markers and 3rd brake light with LED bulbs

differences between bulbs and LED (hope this video works)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1DEcu_EDUA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(ignore the sound of my turbo spooling down XD)

i like how LED's are instant on/off, none of that fading shiat =D
