stupid battery change

Post by jerryc39 »

Stupid me I put the battery cables on the wrong posts for a few seconds while changing a battery on a 2007 mazda 3. The alarm went off and I quickly took the cable off. Now the car won't start and radio doesn't work. Did I blow a fuse or trip some kind of killswitch? Thanks for any help in advance.

some guys have done this with disastrous results... fried PCM, harness, and a BUNCH of components...

If you're lucky, check the main fuse...

Im afraid you might be looking at a trip to your local mazda dealer, sounds like a computer... but like ryan said check your ignition fuse to be safe otherwise call them and explain what you did, maybe it will have a saftey feature you can reset
