E-brake Light On, E-brake.. not on

Post by grimsby3 »

So recently when I put my ebrake down and start driving away, the warning light on my dash comes up saying that the ebrake is still on, although it is slightly springy when its down (if I hit a good bump the handle bumps up and the warning light goes on) I make sure that its all the way down and it still says that the ebrake is on. Also, my mx3 operates so that when the ebrake handle is up, even just one notch, the day time running lights go off, but when the warning light turns on, my daytime lights still stay on until the handle is actually up a notch.

Anyone else have this problem in the past? I'm thinkin it might be something with the ebrake cable, not sure.

Check your brake fluid level, or at least poke the float.

That fixed it, just a bit low on fluid, and made me feel like an idiot at the same time haha :)
