Re: Funny story...
us mx-3 owners get real mad real quick when it comes to our cars. Mazdas just last so long and perform so well, i can't see owning much other stuff. My stealth is hunk a junk, i wish my 90 mustang was still on the road. it sits under a huge tree that fell on it during Katrina. boohoohoo... it was fast, fun and loud. Made my heart beat fast and i think is the reason i like to use terrible words and drink with half nekkid girls. ok to much info. NITE!

Re: Funny story...
Hmmm, no. That's one of the myths I was talking about._-Night-Shade-_ wrote:Actually I think he was referring to the spider/side gears of the differential, which "float" and can be knocked out of place with no axles holding the whole thing together.
This is an F5 differential.
And here is a close up.
As you can see, there's a shaft holding the spider gears to the frame. The other 2 spider gears (the output gears that connect to the CV drives) sit in grooves in the frame, and can't be taken off without taking off the shaft and its spider gears before.
And yes, that's the differential I keep besides my bed.

I know exactly what you mean. My scrap yard lady tells me all the time that its not an MX-3, its a Precidia. Is an MX6 a Mystere too?
Then she says there's an orange one in the yard, and points. Its a tiburon .
I say thanks, and walk away.

Way to wave a steak infront of a bunch of lions and walk away. Even lions could use a cougar once and a while.

Re: Funny story...
I don't know if it's Canadian marketing, or just Mazda with all that MX-3, Eunos, Precidia, Autozam and whatnot BS.
But ignorant people are everywhere. I once got an auto part store employee telling me there's no such thing as a "Mazda MX-3", and even refusing to look it up in the computer, to the point that I had to call the store manager to get taken care of. And this was in Miami...

Re: Funny story...
I hate to break it to you DUDE but there is such a thing
and it's sitting right outside in your parking lot.
Some system don't take the dash before the 3.
Some need the dash or it wont show up.
Some need only a space and some don't even need the space.
I had to speak up on that post again cuz im in the middle of it now.
No one competent enough around here in the (AC dept anyways) to help me.
(because there were no MX-3's made) < LOL
I will have to go out of state to have it looked at or fixed.
