Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
I think it's the angle of it that is not right... I guess I was thinking you would replace the rear window nozzle with the antenna

Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
Well, I was going for function over form, so I'm happy!
Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
agreed.... the angle is off, just doesn't follow the lines of the car.Mooneggs wrote:I think it's the angle of it that is not right... I guess I was thinking you would replace the rear window nozzle with the antenna
Also, mooneggs has a good point about replacing the rear window nozzle, it would be more pleasing to the eye
But as long as you like, its all that matters

Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
It was not a style decision, I am a contract engineer for a local AM station and need good reception at all times. The stock antenna is junk.

Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
I bet you could shave the base of it, so it lays down more, and alter (maybe shim) the mounting bolt underneath. It would look much better. I know you just need it to work, and are probably done with dealing with it, but that's my 2¢. It's well done, workmanshipwise, though.

Function over form! It would be vertical if I were to adjust angle. Physics does not care for looks!fowljesse wrote:I bet you could shave the base of it, so it lays down more, and alter (maybe shim) the mounting bolt underneath. It would look much better. Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
Should the AE not be pointed up for the best AM reception?
BTW AM radio FTL.

Re: Installed VW New Beetle type radio antenna
