Need help with my TPS.

Post by M3nace »

Hello,
i'm from the dutch mx-3 community and i have a problem that i dont get fixed.
everytime when i hit the trohtle my idle speed hangs a few seconds on 1500 rpm.
also when ten en grnd where connected. here you see it yourself:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGKyWYLXoMk

now i've adjusted my tps and set him to recommend settings, just like the FAQ @ this forum.
Now when i connect ten en grnd my idle speed goes to normal value.
but when they are not connected the problems is still there.
i hope you can help me.

sorry dude, don't know how to help, but I have to say, I like your gauges. Where did you get them? Back to the problem? could the sensor be bad? but I really don't know

I would suggest cleaning the idle air control valve where the coolant passes through. It gets very dirty in there and could be causing the valve to stick open for a second.

hey,
the gauges are from poland. We had a groupbuy with the dutch community.
I run a 1.6 dohc. I have cleaned the IAC. But the funny thing is.. when ten and ground are connected he runs normally.
and when is @ 1500 rpm and i set the airco in, he falls back to 750 rpm.

Replace the TB with a known good unit from one of your friend's cars if you have one and see if it goes away. If it's not a sensor or a TB issue it could be mechanical like something obstructing the throttle cable.

my car used to do the same thing, it got so bad that it would no longer idle under 1500. I just replaced the whole tb with the sensors and the idle motor. I had no problems after, good luck.

Btw i too love the gauges
