No internal damage at all, everything looks as good as the day I
put it together. Im not sure at this point what the hell caused
the pressure failure but I haven't taken the pump off completely
yet.

Toga said in an email that they would replace the pump if it is
deemed faulty... do I get another toga?

I don't want to be replacing the pump again.. they should last
the life of the vehicle and then some.

What a relief! Glad to hear it, id say, remove the pump and test it. I wouldn't get why u couldn't re-use it if it's alright.

The pump is a remanufactured unit, not new like advertised and sold as. The
pump I took off the original engine looked 10x better than this one and it saw
some abuse from the original owner. There were no pitts or score marks on the
pump from the 200k + EGT this engine came from.

This is after 10k kilometers keep in mind using Mobil 1 oil -

Im really not surprised they do not want people opening these up...
Getting a new unit from somewhere else and shimming it this time.

The pressure relief valve was stuck open is why no pressure:

I cant beleive how bad it was

Cheap packing lube from toga I think is what caused this, theres no damage
upstream or downstream of the pump.

Sorry for your bad luck.

Quick wiring question for you about wiring,

Image

So is this diagram right? All you have to do is take the main relay wire from the black switch and make it go to the heated o2 on the dash harness and make the rear defrost wire from the black plug and connect it to the small white plug instead of them going to the yellow ECU plugs? No wires had to be changed in the other white plug at the bottom of the page?

I am doing this today and any info would really help out alot.

You dont have to change any of the ECU pins. The top in the above diagram is
the black connectorif I remember correctly and your just moving one wire over
one spot. And then your moving one wire from the same connector to the small
white 4 slotter for the rear defrost.

This is for a 94 RS only keep in mind. A 93 or 95 is completely different.

I think some of the 95's are the same. I know my 95RS was still OBD1 as it was an early model year actually produced in 94.

Congrats on the car being ok!

Ya, mine is OBDI also, and my plugs are the same, including wire colors, as yours.

So you didn't have to change any wires around in the other White plug at all?

Thanks,

Jeff

This is how a rear spring should look:

This is how the other side looks:

Cant drive the car with a borked spring but its an excuse to upgrade the entire
suspension. Parts have been ordered.

Yea. I had a set on my 92 and they were graphite color. I also had a set on my 94 when I bought em and they were green. So I guess they either changed colors not to long ago or they sell two colors
