Re: getting keyless entry
You can get universal kits that work fine. There is a writeup floating around on here, try using the search feature.

Wait, what are you saying? You have power locks, but no keyless entry? Thats freaking useless(power locks), all you have to do is stretch out your right arm and flick the switch...

Re: getting keyless entry
alright, but why would i want to extend my arm when i can just press a button?? besides, my passengers never lift up the door handle when they close the door so it dosent lock

Re: getting keyless entry
They sell the same stuff on ebay but a good deal cheaper, although the instructions are probably universal it's not exactly hard to wire it up. I've been thinking of getting a door actuators and a trunk actuator because I have a pretty nice keyless entry system sitting in my basement just begging to be installed, and they key lock on the trunk is broken for some reason, so I have to unlock the door and pull the handle to pop the trunk.

Re: getting keyless entry
The keyless entry is easy.
1. remove the door panels.
2. You should have 2 actuator "guns", and 2 "rods" that connect to the guns. Connect the rods to the guns, and then connect the rod to the other rod in the door (the rod that controls the lock/unlock)
3. Find a good spot that is not in the way of things to mount the actuator guns (obviously 1 on each side). Make sure after mounting that the rod can slide freely left and right, and it locks and unlocks the door.
4. Follow the wiring diagram that comes with the kit, and wire it up.
5. Test it out and enjoy

Re: getting keyless entry
Princess auto has a cheap kit. Haven't tried it but it looks like it would be ok.

Re: getting keyless entry
The ones they sell are the exact same as the ebay one, and they also have single actuators, which will be alot cheaper if you already have an alarm to put in. http://www.princessauto.com/truck-trail ... power+lock $5 each is a steal.g-mac wrote:Princess auto has a cheap kit. Re: getting keyless entry
If your getting keyless entry, I would suggest to get an alarm with that, it just makes sense and adds that layer of security.
If you have a GS, you don't need to add one on the passenger side, and really, you don't even need to wire it up since the passenger side has one, and it does that the drivers side does.

Re: getting keyless entry
You can easily get a 1-way remote starter that does keyless entry for $60, and buy an actuator for $5. That Princess deal is no steal.
