Socket Size ?

Post by Ghostcloak »

Does anyone know what size socket I need to remove the center nut holding holding the hub on to the spindle (steering nuckle)?

Thanks :)

Lol. I was hoping to find out while at work today. My other 2 cars are in the body shop and the MX-3 is sitting on jack stands. And on top of that, I just moved so I don't have any of my socket tools around >_<

Well, how about this, does anyone know how much to torque it down to? :freak: That would be helpful. :P

It's a 32 mm. Make sure you get a 6 point impact socket. I know they're more expensive than regular sockets, but, believe me, those nuts are torqued to about 175 lbs/ft, and they get pretty tight. You will have a very hard time trying to get them out manually (been there), and you'll end borrowing an impact wrench.

You're welcome. :)

Don't forget to crush the sleeve when you reinstall the nut. Otherwise, you may lose the wheel.
Ask me how i know...
