Ahh the ol g series has been good to me these past 5 or so years but a couple of weeks ago while lighting the tires off third gear merging onto the highway upon shifting into fourth all I could feel was the teeth being ripped off the gears. At first I thought I broke an axle but once I realized I had all the gears except fourth I knew what had been done. At least I drove it home and today I picked up the guts from another transmission so I decided tonight to take the gearbox out finally.
Enjoy my crappy cell phone pictures.
Yay carnage! 350 ft lbs of torque will do that.

Given any thought to cryo-treating? I want to pick up a spare trans and have it done. The shop my brother works for has done it on their race/track cars (3 FC's) and have had great success.

They say duct tape and superglue fixes everything, but I don't think that applies here...
