We had a better video of people skating down the road, but apparently I didn't figure out the new camera, haha.

They guy I bought the car from described it as his "d--- around car"

Its a different machine now.

Thanks man, I was always a skeptic of "is this worth it" or not, as I'm balancing work, people, school(money), and everything... but yeah, for the fun it provides, I have no regrets.

Nearly 130(stock) at the crank and as close to 130 at the wheels as possible, so maybe 100? :P I plan to do a compression test soon and if it doesn't read full across the board I will be scratching my head. For being a 16 year old car with a 18 year old engine, putting 130 at the crank is an acheivement. Especially at maybe 5k invested. New Maz3 Sports only put down 150. So, Ha.

Plan to free up the breathing and spark next.

I'd also like to dress her up a bit now, because she's now got the bite to go with the bark. I'm not much of a poser, but I'll show what I've got.

Hehe, driving home with the GF in persuit, I was egging her on by driving 10 below the limit. She passed me, but definately not for long. The extra 1k range lets 3rd gear rock between 80-125 now instead of just up to 110.

[quote="Ryan"]so I put in the SOHC thermosensor.... guage didn't change.

It was my neg battery terminal.

I changed the oil @ 200km

I fixed my exhaust leak (yay for high heat RTV)

I ran new washer fluid lines. It actually sprays better. I vote do it, its only like .50/ft.

Cap and rotor. I noticed it sounded different.

sorry for the question but what is the Cap and Rotor? please no bashing

the cap is the black part of the disty that you see when you look in your engine bay. The plug wires plug into it.

The rotor is hiding beneath the cap and is attatched to a rotating camshaft. It distributes the spark between the plugs. (this is why the firing order follows a clockwise pattern from the top of the disty, on the 4 cyls)

They just get old and over time metals subjected to such high voltages lose their continuity. You get a healthier spark when you change them.

super easy job. remember firing order, remove plug wires, take out two little screws, take off cap, remember orientation of rotor (only two options, not hard) remove rotor, and do it all back in reverse with the new parts.

Those are 140k KM's (86k miles) and I just rolled over 150k km's. (93k miles)

Did I ever mention my new theory on my trailing arm explosion day? One day when I was on the lift, one of the pins that holds in the brake pad pins came half out and caught on the wheel. It had a VERY reminiscent feeling. The pin was bent to shyte, and since I have been holding my pads in with some halfass cotter pin. I was also missing a pin (hmmmm)

I picked up some new pins from the junker, they were in okay shape so why not :)

Also got a newer signal/wiper arm with mint lettering on it.

Lots of little projects :)

I haven't done anything recently. Exam week approaches, but so does summer!

I'm thinking on fibreglassing an A pillar guage pod. Get some vac, volt and another fun/useless guage. Maybe get a temp specific one, and turn the dash one into something else :) A little motor that just spins the needle 'round... haha. And a RHD pass door so I have a handle. Someone else on here did that, I really like it. I don't have power windows anyway.

Had a super squeak today. No idea what it was. I'm okay looking like a dork (because I don't care what the smokers think, they drive crap anyway) and I drove up to school with a massive belt squeak. Popped the hood and it quit :confused2: It was VERY loud, almost like two bearings were going at once. Didn't get worse with alty load, or steering load. Quiet below 1k and above 4k, but inbetween.... gosh, I swear I may have been pulled for noise violations. It was kinda funny. The GF was embarrassed.

Another good time with my crazy MX. She's getting moodier with the new powerplant, I swear.

I figured out what the super squeak was. My belt is too long. I had maxed out the alty bracket and the belt still had an inch of play. There was particlized belt EVERYWHERE. Its dirty, she needs an underhood wash.

I cut the bracket open on the end so I could fasten the alty further away yet. That will do untill I get a new belt.

Changed fuel filter. If you do this at home, remove the battery/tray. Makes it 100x easier. Stupid brake booster/master is VERY in the way. Also, even if you pull the FP and let it die, there is still a LOT of fuel lost, so have plugs ready. (1/4" drive extensions work minty)

Gow my dash put back together finally  Its only been apart for a few months. Reverse glows with rings looks pretty hot. I just have a grounding problem, as my relay goes nutty if I put in a certain screw. Need to rip the bottom half of the dash out and inspect.

Brakes, signal/wiper arms tomorrow... bought some springs from rekognize and a tie bar. It will be good.
