Car dies when coming to a stop or when clutch is disengaged

Post by ptmr3 »

I was pulling into a parking lot when my 92 4cyl died when i was coming to a stop. When a restarted it it tried to die again immediately and started idleing at less than 500 rpm, just enough to keep it kind of running. at high rpm sounds fine but at 2000 sounds lik it sputtering or not running on all cyl.... and dies again as soon as the rpm is supposed to idle... What is the problem here?!!!

check for vacuum leaks, around your air intake/rubber boot.

ya sure sounds like a vacuum leak. maybe letting air in after the maf/vaf sensor. so its letting in unmetered air. look for cracked vacuum lines, maybe a intake manifold gasket leaking.
