Engine Bay Cleaning
Engine Bay Cleaning
hey guys whats the best and safest way to clean my engine bay its super dirty..
Re: Engine Bay Cleaning
If you have a decent car wash in your area, use their engine degreaser. Make sure to cover your alt, disty, and air intake. Spray it on your warm engine generously, cover it thoroughly with degreaser and let it soak for about 5 minutes, spray it off, but make sure that if you get any on your show quality or faded paint that you rinse it right away.

Re: Engine Bay Cleaning
I do this almost every month.... get a bottle of MEAN GREEN degreaser, use a garden hose DON'T USE A POWER SPRAYER as it can damage things.... Let the mean green sit for about 10 min then hose off.
Cover your:
Disty
Alternator
Fuse box
You may need to use a tooth brush or scrub brush to get in some areas... thats what I do!

Re: Engine Bay Cleaning
When doing this, Remember to make sure your spark plug wires are seated good in the valve cover. I've done this before and water seeked into my plug holes and I had to dry it out because my car wouldn't crank.
