Drag race suspension setup
This year I am going to be working more on susupension/weight transfer. Please post up what you are using for springs/struts! Is it working for you? Thinking of making a change?

Re: Drag race suspension setup
I wanna see how this thread fills out, I'm very interested in other peoples setups
does anybody have a list of spring rates for the more common mx-3 srings?

Re: Drag race suspension setup
Not exactly on topic, but I'll be putting in some rubber spring spacers to try and reduce squatting the rear. I've no idea what rates my lowering springs are, came with the car, about -45mm, but my front end lifts up alot and my rear goes way down. Next big purchase for me will be Ksport coilovers I think.

Re: Drag race suspension setup
I don't know about Ksport but D2 started making drag coilovers with stiffer spring rates, i assume Ksport makes them too, they seem to be about $200-300us more than their regular coilovers

Re: Drag race suspension setup
mines top secret, but a 1.8 60ft is pretty good.
Id get a 1.6 60 ft if I was to run a wheelie bar out the back
as I could transfer more weight to the front.
harder springs in the a-- makes for a hairy top end at over 180kmph
limit straps on the front stop a lot of upward travel and are a very cheap
addition

Re: Drag race suspension setup
Thanks for not helping. I think most guys with basic suspensions have seen 1.8 60' times.. I know if have with blown struts and ground control coilovers.kiwimx3 wrote:mines top secret, but a 1.8 60ft is pretty good.

Re: Drag race suspension setup
I used the adjustable spring blocks (the ones with bolts and little metal plates) in the rear of mine. They're in the same section as the rubber spring blocks usually. It massively decreased my travel in the rear. You can see how far it jacked up the back in this pic
http://www.iceyrecords.com/drew/mx3/Gol ... aptrix.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I agree with the above comment on high speed stability though. At high speeds (130+) with very little travel in the rear slowing down is not for the faint of heart.
Currently I have a set of ksports on order (perpetual back order). I ordered them mainly to fit a wider/taller tire combo, but I like the options for drag racing as well.

Re: Drag race suspension setup
I bet it would help to replace all your bushings with 90A Poly ones, and de-activate your rear wheel steering.
