No, but I'll have to talk to her/him!
I considered the pinning idea but I was worried that the cylinders would bulge around the pins and take a flower shape and allow lots o blow by.

Ah, well unfortunately, they have left probetalk recently and probably will not be back. He had ALOT of knowledge about ZE's, pretty much anything you ever wanted to know, such as how to get COP's on the KLZE for cheap!

I'm interested in seeing how your block guard performs...I know the KL blocks are extremely well engineered as they are, and it is probably overkill unless you plan to rev to 9500 often and are pushing alot of extra compression!

I figure I have the engine all apart and it'll be a while before I swing a good deal on some forged internals might as well tighten the block up for a couple hundred bucks and call it a little insurance. I got really interested in the KL when I read it had a rod/stroke ratio of 1.86 (if I remember correctly) which should make for an easy reving engine in a light car. I was intially looking at Nissan and Honda engines which had some things I was looking for but not the right package.

I prefer the block guard over posting, less distorion on the cylinder walls.

Its a very common practice on the honda motor.

However for a pure dragracing only motor Id devon the block and run methanol.
