Oil pans on rockauto
Just wondering is anyone knows the difference here:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carco ... ttype,5562" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
one sez upper and the other lower...
Ummmm... pretty sure they were a single unit.
Just asking because I feel it would be easier to add an oil drainage bung (for a turbo) on a new pan.
It's late.. I could just be tired.. or crazy... Let's go with tired.

You know, you could answer your own question if you just searched...
... the website you pointed to, clicked "more info" and realized it's the same part, just the dorman is built obviously a bit nicer.
way to go OBD.

The oil pan on the B6 is a funny two part unit. It has a lower kinda reservoir and a middle sort of support unit. I was like WTF when I took mine apart.

It seems like you are wrong tho. "More info" should be changed to "enlarge pic" The flanges look different on the pans... I was not sure if it was a 2 peice dealy or just 2 companies making the same thing.
I'm gunna have to take you off as one of my votes for member of the year.

Re: Oil pans on rockauto
well there is the B6 SOHC and the B6DOHC. The DOHC had VICS and the SOHC didn't. You might have the SOHC then.
