What are these plugs for?

Post by onlytrueromeo »

Did the KLZE swap and I have 4 plugs I can't figure out. They're on the right side of the engine bay as you look at it (near the battery).

This is the first plug. It's connected to the wiring harness right after the VAF.

This is the second plug.

These two plugs "hang" by the back of the block. They are connected in the same place as the rear O2 sensor.

To those that asked if I didn't connect things to my tranny - I have 3 plugs in my tranny all hooked up as follows:

The second is not your radiator fan?

I have 2 plugs for my fans, one on each side. They are already plugged in with the "yellow back" plugs that match them. I don't think there is a 3rd plug on the radiator that I am missing...

The last one is not Start Motor, is it? :freak:

First one is EGR for sure.

2nd on cant be for start motor, the car starts without both of these plugged in. If the other one is for the EGR then what are the 2 plugs I have hanging in the back of the block LOL. I have both VRIS solenoids plugged in, both my O2 sensors and everything else I can think of. I'll take more pics in a few minutes.

There is a black one like that that comes from the rear side of your tranny, did you plug the wrong plug into that? And there's also a grey 2 wire plug that goes to the back of your tranny.

I have 2 things plugged into my tranny already - it could be I have the wrong plug in one of them, but then I would still have another plug. Ah, I didnt know there was a plug on the airbox.....since I'm getting rid of the airbox, do I need the plug? I'll go look at this stuff some more.

The first is EGR, so just leave that be. I remember that second one just hanging there when I was doing my swap. I can't remember if I ended up using it or not. I will check that later on. The other 2 look like the ones that plug in by the radiator fill above the timing belt.

Yeah they are the same style plugs as the temp sensors by the radiator fill on the manifold - but they aren't those plugs as I have 2 plugged in there already on the correct part of the harness. They are hanging down by the back of the block if that helps, near the VRIS solenoids.

If you can wait till tonite I'll take pics of my ZE and post them here. Maybe that'll clarify things. I thought the grey plug went to your solinoid at the throttle body (pics will clarify).
