[WTA] K8 vacuum - engine stalls

Post by Steve_SK »

Hello friends, I would like to ask.. I found information in workshop manual about testing PCV valve and some other vacuum hoses, but the problem is.. if I remove PCV valve from head cover, remove oil cap or remove oil dip stick, disconnect any vacuum hose, engine stalls. Is it normal? How should I check those things then? :( Thank you.

i believe unplugging that stuff is the equivilent of creating a vacuum leak, mr. steve... IIRC, the way to check the pcv is to give it a shake and see if it rattles, and also you should be able to blow through it from the valve cover end, but not the other way around

Jim, yes. I have a new genuine Mazda PCV valve, but why manual says to check it the way I described? I hope nothing is bad with my engine. :)
