Why are the Automatics so faulty?

Post by NorCalMX3 »

Okay, so I've been on craigslist browsing MX-3s for the last few days, and I've stumbled upon two SEPARATE posts for MX-3's with faulty automatics. One Article says "-Transmiccion is slipping" (he didn't know how to spell transmission i guess) and the other post says "THE CAR NEEDS THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOIDS" (it was an automatic as well). My own GS had a blown automatic when i first bought her as well. so I'm just wondering what is in these automatics that are so terrible and why Mazda hasn't tried to remedy the situation?

by the way, i love the 5 speed MUCH more, i just like to get some insight on this problem.

Well considering my Tranny has blown too (Automatic) I'd say...

Mazda = Great Car for the first 100k.
Mazda = $ Eater after 101K

I bought my car with a sic auto too, and it was the third tranny too acording to the owner who had it from new...

only 250000kms on it when I bought it.

Now it is a manual, and I am Mclovin' it.

I think that I read somewhere that they are made from spun sugar.

cheers
