I broke my MX3 :'(

Post by *PyRoTeCh* »

Driving home from work, it was slightly hailing, nothing major, wasnt cold. Went to go around a corner and the car kept going straight. I ended up in on coming traffic with a Civic coming straight for me. I pulled an e-brake and cranked the wheels even harder and managed to do a 180 and get back into the other lane but didnt have time to correct my steering so, the front end drifted out and smacked off his drivers side front fender/wheel.

Damage didnt look very extensive, I would need a new passenger fender and whole right side spindle/shock assembly and tie rod. The civic needed the same.

The Civic was a 2008 Si. I get a phone call from my insurance informing me that the Civic was a write off!! I thought new cars where supposed to be safer and more reliable... The front end crumpled like a tin can when they went to load in on the flat bed... Anyway, insurance decided to write my car off due to a bent frame.

Anyway, thats my story; I miss my little green beast.

at least nobody was seriously hurt... As old as our cars are, pretty much any wreck you claim will be a complete write off since the KBB value of our cars is $3000 or less (give or take)...

They gave me $4800 before tax and crap. I Ended up with $4000. I still think the car would have been drivable. Nobody was hurt which was good.

A lady in a F250 backed into me at an intersection and they wrote me off. I got $3200+GST for my 95RS. I think I would get over $5000 for the SE if that happened....knock on wood.

93' GS SE, the Black Beast, the former love of my life...soon to be gutted and crushed.

I wanted to keep my baby but sadly due to a recent move I dont have the space to work on the car. I had originaly intended when I bought the car to do it up and make it into a pimp ride, I have spent a crap load of money on new stuff for it and now its all just sitting there in a box. Oh well, eBay here I come I guess. :(
