engine trouble

My engine light just turned on today.... it sort of flickers on and off every time it turns off i can feel a thump and then the light turns right back on.. anyone know what the issue is? thanks

aight... i did the test and it came up with code 03 , which is the 'G' camshaft position sensor. Would this be a plausible cause of the problem?

bad distributor. the cam sensor is inside the disty, lots of people have that problem. you can do a mod called HEI. you can search around and see if you want to do this if not a new disty is most likely the cause. also check your wiring do your distributor plugs just to make sure its not the circuit wiring thats bad. good luck
