An affordable big brake kit - feeler thread-
This is just a feeler thread to see who may be up for using an affordable big brake kit for the Mx-3. The brake package would be for the front ONLY! As of now, NOTHING is for sale yet untill further notice and testing. Sorry, no pics yet.
Details and goals.
Goal -
Able to use a 15 inch and up wheel.
Lighter front brakes for lower unsprung weight than factory setup.
Increase brake torque and increase thermal capability.
Keep cost below $1000. Total has not yet been determined.
Details -
Using an 11" (280mm), 2-piece rotor and aluminum hat.
Willwood forged dynalite calipers.
Many pad options for street or race.
Stainless brake lines.
This is just a warm up thread so please post if you might be interested.

Also interested pending the finished project and how far I decide to go with this car. Would definitely like the option for rear brakes as well.

You guys won't be dissapointed in appearance. Trust me.
I should have a prototype kit made within 2-3weeks. I'll let you guys know soon.

Very interested. That is one of the next things I plan on doing this year. The only thing is I just installed new steel braided brake lines.

Sounds great. But these GI threads always seem to hurt my feelings.

It may or may not need one. I still have to test the setup extensively before more are made.monty73741 wrote:dont forget about the new portioning valverekognize wrote:I'm in

I'm interested also... i really want a proportioning valve though cause i have awd and want to upgrade the rears a little also.
Also i heard that one of the break companies brakes have to be rebuilt often cause they aren't fully sealed well and dust and such gets in them often. does wildwood have this issue at all?

Re: An affordable big brake kit - feeler thread-
Something this expensive (even though it's a good deal, $1000 is still alot of money) would have to be available for an extended period of time. I would love to have a kit if it's everything you say it will be, but I won't be able to do it this year. If it's going to be available in 09' then yeah, I'll probably want one, but don't count me in if it has to be in the next few months.
