AFPR problem
I have hooked up my AFPR, and it seems that no matter what I turn the dial to, it doesn't make a difference in the pressure on the gauge on the side of the Regulator. I am using the Mallory Universal AFPR, it has 1 inlet, 1 bypass, and 3 other ports that I blocked off, and a gauge port(with a gauge in it) It reads 75-80psi at idle. WTF? it won't change no matter what I set it to.I bought it used, so maybe it's broken? doesn't seem to have anything wrong with it, I checked.
any ideas anyone?

Re: AFPR problem
You gotta have a fuel return line hooked up - FPRs build up pressure by closing the return and release pressure by opening up the return - if you have the return blocked it will read maximum pressure all the time.....

Re: AFPR problem
Eactly.. the line connects to the RETURN line on your fuel rail that leads to the tank.
Also, make sure that vaccume line is connected!

Re: AFPR problem
Obviously you have the old FPR removed correct? Also, what injectors are you using?

Re: AFPR problem
ya, I made my own adapter thingy in my machine shop, and I am running the 220cc injectors.
wierd. I just uninstalled the AFPR for now. Fcuk it. the stock one seems to work better anyway.

Re: AFPR problem
Hook it up to a metered air hose and see if it gives the same reading. Maybe the gauge is just stuck

Re: AFPR problem
I will try that. that's a good Idea.
but I don't have much hope for the gauge being stuck, because it moves around no problem.
At least that would tell me if the darn thing is working though.
Oh well, for now, the car runs great. maybe a slight bit lean because of only having the 220cc injectors.
If my crappy experience with Dimak ever gets resolved I will try to buy some more red tops.
but for now, 220cc injectors weren't too expensive from the local autowreckers
