Re: rate this mx3
The number of cylinders is mostly irrelevent, it's the displacement. I 1.8L V6 will produce roughly the same power as a 1.8L I4.shab4life wrote:yes im sure... what you think this is a 4cylmr1in6billion wrote:You sure that wasn't 18lbs of boost?shab4life wrote:setup was KLZE-T running 3lbs of boost for shows and all

And I call BS on any car that claims to gain a 100% increase in hp at 8lbs of boost. At 15psi you are pushing twice as much air into the engine, thus you should get roughly twice the power. At 8psi you are pushing 55% more air, and it should give that much more power. If you are getting 346 at 8psi that means your engine is putting out over 220hp without boost. Most people with your engine hit just above 250 at 8psi (90hp less than you claim).

We're not criticizing.. we want proof. you posted something that seems far-fetched.
We had a guy on the mx-3 email list that claimed to have a twin turbo small block v8 in his mx-3. Not realizing he was local to myself as well as a mechanic that had actually worked on his car!!
We're not calling you a liar, we just want more proof. The dyno clearly shows the numbers you claim. But whos to say its not fake with some numbers seemingly incorrect? How abotu a list of mods youve done? pics? anything but a video of a drive by and a scan of a dyno.
Show us more and get the respect you deserve.

The answer to why his numbers are so high is extremely simple He's on a dynapack dyno. They do not deliver true whp numbers because Well YOU DONT HAVE WHEELS ON WHEN YOU DYNO! these machines hook to your hubs and basically measure hp at the axle. I've argued the accuracy of these many times as they provide unrealistic whp numbers, yes the wheel factor is simulated by a computer but um you can enter in any size wheel at any weight and with different other variables, making it unrealistic to what your car actually puts to the wheels. If you want accuracy go DynoJet or STFU.
It's not his fault he's claiming what the machine told him, but to be honest you dont have that much whp, there are too many factors that come into play when you go from the axle to the wheel, think about it your eliminating the actual rotating mass that puts the hp to the ground.
If you did make that much whp on a dynojet then congratz, you've some how figured somethign out that no one else has ever figured out, including a few guys on here pushing close to 400whp but at 14psi, which i trust his dyno over yours
And to everyone who didnt really look at his dyno, IT SAYS FLYWHEEL TORQUE AND FLYWHEEL HP...
Do a little math and you find out he's putting down the same amount of power most guys do with a similar setup...
