Oilfilter cooling?

Post by Kveite »

I found this on my k8 engine, but not on my DE. Is this some sort of cooling of the oil when its passing in and out of the filter?
Is it something I should transfer to the DE or leave in the junkyard?
Seems kinda scary if the seelant brakes :)

All k series engines have that. it feeds coolant to the oil cooler. if the DE doesn't ahve it them its been takin off. Just swap it from the k8. It shouldn't leak if you do the job right.

But do I need to take the trouble by switching it? Its some job as I have fitted all he belts and inlet manifold already..

If someone has taken it of, is it needed?
Can I do without it?
