[FS] 1993 Mazda MX-3 GS/KLZE

Post by ScooterBovine »

Up for sale is my Laguna Blue 1993 MX-3, with the KLZE motor swap done to it. I need to get another family car, so it is time to say goodbye to my baby. The air conditioner works great! Power windows and roof all work fine, and the power seatbelts are all functional. Power locks work fine. Interior is great! I'll have to look again, but the front seats don't have any tears that I can remember. Along with the engine swap, the timing belt and water pump were replaced. 204,000 miles on the vehicle.

EDIT: Asking $3,000 firm.

Modifications:

KLZE engine swap (less than 1000 miles)
Fidanza flywheel (less than 1000 miles)
SPEC stage 1 clutch (less than 1000 miles)
Pacesetter headers (less than 1000 miles)
Pacesetter exhaust
6.5" Polk MOMO component speakers in the front
2 10" Audiobahn subwoofers in box
2 10" Kicker Comps in custom hatch cover (not connected)
2 Jensen amplifiers powering each Audiobahn subwoofer
Combat Spoiler
Combat rear bumper
Combat sideskirts (not installed)
18" wheels (forget the brand) with rubber
Front AND rear strut bars
Black altezza style rear lights
Fully adjustable Koni struts

Problems:
Needs the computer swapped out. Currently is running off the 1.8l ECU. I have a MegaSquirt from a group buy on its way, it should be here by mid October I would hope. Comes with a wiring harness, as well.

Has that idle bounce thing going on. Easy fix if you know how.

Exhaust has a leak. No catalytic converter, either. Mechanic said it wouldn't fit... So you might want to figure out how to put one on!

Cruise control doesn't work. No idea why. Maybe the mechanic that did the swap forgot to reconnect it. It used to work on the 1.8l, though.

Small spots of rust here and there. Nothing major, just where some paint has worn away. Speaking of paint, needs a paint job. Or some cleaning up and a new clear coat.

Needs a proper intake system. Right now, just using a hacked up version of the stock air intake.

Brake light comes on irregularly. Might be attributable to the wrong ECU. Full of fluid and car stops fine, no problems with the E-brake.

Needs an alignment.

Horn does not blow. You can hear the relays clicking, but no horn blast.

Could probably use some motor mounts due to the more power motor.

EDIT: Some pictures. Could use a bath...

I'll be in Ohio this weekend, can I come look at it? My sister needs a better car and she has been bothering me about getting an mx-3...
