Tranny help 95 1.6 dohc

hey my friend has a 95 1.6 dohc mx3 and he blew the spider gears in the manual trans and we were wondering wat other tranys will work out of another car because the dohc motor is hard to find in junkyards around us he dosen't wanna spend alot of money he just wants to get it drivable again . any help is appreciated

A trans from a 2nd gen Protege can be used. Make sure that it has a 1.5. The 1.5 uses an F series gearbox like the Mx-3 uses. (May actually be a 1.6, can't remember now.)

the trans from the 1.6 sohc 92-93 will work just as well
