GTR rods in a stock OEM build feels a little like a waste to me.

Anyways. if you haven't gotten some stock rods yet. You should be able to get them from the Ford dealers too. Different part number obviously. But they work fromt he Escort GT's and Escort LXE's/ Merc tracer LTS'

well heres what i see:

from the ford escort with the 22mm crank snout the rod #CRMA13
and the escrot with the 27mm crank snout #CRMA9

both a b6 engine and both a DOHC but their engine is a 1.8liter

for my b6ze i get a #CRMA13 number.

and for the mx3's with a SOHC in it the rod #CRMA14

and it seems the tracer from 87-89 had the same b6 sohc engine in it and it has the same part number as the DOHC.

the mazda dealer was wanting 100-115 bucks per rod. thats 550 dollars right there lol might as well buy performance ones incase if im gonna boost later on.
