Honestly.. from what I have seen.. the best option for running a ZE in our MX-3's is to run some form of engine management system other than the KL31 & KL36 ECU's. Those ECU's typically average $200 or more and seem to always have a running rich problem that I havent seen anyone post a fix for. The system that seems to get the most out of the ZE is a megasquirt setup with MSD window switches to set the VRIS points for optimal power. Not that much more and the engine will run its best giving you the most power and reliability. Just my opinion of course. But if I was going to run a ZE.. I wouldnt even consider a KL31 or 36 ECU.. I'd get a 93+ K8 ECU chipped by that probinator dude before I would run the KL ECU's. Even those seem to do better from the posts I have read.

Yeh, I agree with Tunes, aside from Megasquirt, Probinator chipped K8 ECU would probably be the best option. From what I understand, his chip offers the best performance, correct VRIS points, and it's an awesome deal - $40 shipped. You can run any IM neck with it, and it works with your stock JE50 VAF.
As far as the IM itself, it's really up to you, but the straight neck is superior performance-wise, and it would be easier to find, also. I've not seen many true curve-neck ZEs for sale. So I'd get the straight neck and swap it out for a Millennia IM.
